Who are some Kollywood actresses who ruined their careers overnight?

👉   The first one that comes to mind is Asin.

In the 2000s, Asin had a very successful career. began with M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi (2004), a Malayali who played the role of Malabar (Mythili).

She has gained enormous popularity since playing Kalpana in the 2005 movie Ghajini.

She has subsequently shared the stage alongside well-known actors like Vijay, Ajith, Kamal Hassan, Surya, and Vikram, among others. Instead of Nayanthara, she would have become the "Lady Superstar" if she had lived (though I am not a fan of both of them, Asin was way more popular than Nayanthara during this time). Despite not being Tamil, she was one of the few actresses who dubbed her voice in movies, while other actresses relied on dubbing actors like Savitha.

She made the transition to Bollywood in the late 2000s and early 2010s. She got to start acting with Salman Khan in the Hindi adaptation of Ghajini and worked hard to achieve the same fame in Bollywood. She thus kind of gave up appearing in Tamil movies to focus on Bollywood. (There was also talk of them having a love relationship.)

That was not, however, the fundamental factor in Asin's absence from Kollywood. She didn't leave Kollywood; Kollywood left her. She had a very close relationship with Sri Lanka in 2009. They intended to film certain sequences in Sri Lanka while filming Ready (the Salman Khan movie from 2009). This wasn't an ideal moment to shoot because the genocide against the Tamil people was increasing and Sri Lanka was about to end its civil war. She received criticism not just from the public but also from those in the film business when people from Tamil Nadu found out she was traveling to Sri Lanka.

Seeman is one of them (a director and politician- who is an ardent supporter of Prabhakaran and wants the independence of Tamils in Sri Lanka to form Tamil Eelam). They threatened to ban her from Kollywood if she didn't quit this movie. She was banned because she decided to stick with Ready. She then stopped her career in Tamil movies, but she could still travel to Jaffna and lend a hand. She even urged Tamil Nadu residents to travel to Jaffna and lend a hand.

Even though she had assisted in Jaffna, the Tamil population was still unable to forgive her and had even grown more hostile toward her. She contradicted herself at this point. She was accompanied by the Rajapakse family on her tour to Sri Lanka. She was joined by Rajapakse's wife on her trip to Jaffna. Having supper with their family and rumors of relationships with Rajapakse's kid are just a few examples.

She basically did the most foolish thing possible. Asin intended to observe the extent of the misery experienced by Tamils while being pleasant and present with the primary perpetrators (family).

Because she was starring in quality films, her career has now seriously declined in Tamil and Hindi cinema. She therefore cites her marriage as a justification for quitting performing, although she wasn't really thinking.
