Bollywood or Tollywood

 If you like the western culture more than indian and want to get that western feel then bollywood is the place for you. If you like people behaving indian,looking indian amd dancing indian , tollywood is the place.

Parameters:

1.Budget-Clearly bollywood. Tollywood still catching up.

2.Music-I’m not a detailed music lover but one from the masses. So excuse me for this. If you are an energy lover, tollywood is the only place for such songs. If you are kinda relaxed and like slow songs then bollywood. Still tollywood takes the edge here right now (for the masses) because every tollywood album has a correct combination of mass,western and slow songs.

3. Acting- There are some superb actors in both the industries. Both have star kids. But the difference between them is that star kids in tollywood can still act to a very good level(nagarjuna,jr ntr, allu arjun etc) whereas majority of bollywood star kids arent able to change even their facial expressions ,leave alone acting(mustafa,sooraj pancholi). Only shahid kapoor and ranbir kapoor are superb in the star kid section .But you still have a legend like amitabh bacchan who can anyday overshadow anyone by his mere presence in the movie. For tollywood,it has the likes of chiranjeevi and nagarjuna who are superb and save almost every film with their performances. So both are probably on equal level as far as acting is concerned.

4.Screenplay-Tollywood,Hands down!

5.Dancing- Bollywood has only hip hop, tollywood has mass,hip hop and slow. Energy being the plus point. A lot of north indians will argue with the name of tiger shroff who is a master in hip hop, but he completely sucks at mass dancing!(Hrithik and shahid are still the best dancers in bollywood after govinda).Tollywood wins again!

6. Direction-Equally good and bad directors. For a raju hirani, there’s an s.s rajamouli. For every sajid khan, There’s a Meher ramesh. For every Ayan mukherjee theres a Shekhar kammula.

7. Fan following- Bollywood stars are internationally more popular because hindi speaking people are in majority. Srk and salman were biggest superstars but now prabhas has overtaken them. And till now, a lot of people would have anticipated that a lot more like mahesh babu and allu arjun will become famous pan-india.(I guess they already have. Look at the no of views Allu arjun’s sarrainodu got in just 3 days. Today it is about to reach a whopping 6.5 million views ,the highest for any indian movie on youtube). So post- bahubali , south indian cinema has become more popular and stars like srk and salman are giving flops(fan,tubelight,dear zindagi,JHMS).

8. Critics(additional): This is one thing that irritates me a lot about bollywood. If you look at tollywood critics, they look at a mass movie from the mass point of view and dont try to find the artistic value in them, because they know its for the normal indian people. Additionally, they dont want everything like hollywood and like it when their actors make films sticking to their own cultures. In bollywood , the case is completely reverse. EVERY MASS MOVIE IS A BAD MOVIE FOR BOLLY CRITICS. Dont know why they want to replicate everything like hollywood.

9. Looks- 4–5 years ago, bollywood was far ahead in this department than tollywood. But again tollywood has caught up with some remarkable styling in their movies. If hrithik looks classy as a fighter in bang bang, Jr ntr looks uber stylish as a street smart entrepreneur in nannaku prematho.If ranbir kapoor looks handsome in YJHD, ram charan too looks handsome in GAV. If Imran khan has a great sense of style, there’s always an allu arjun as the answer to him from tollywood.

So, even if i’m a north indian, i’ll be more biased towards tollywood because they eventually are entertaining people in the indian style, where you feel more at home even if the actor is dressed up western.North indian audiences are now fed up of watching the same ‘ guy-girl in a exotic location’story.Bollywood is badly failing in entertaining the audience(not singing and dancing but a story and screenplay able enough to make you sit for two hours on the same place). Bollywood badly needs a raju hirani movie, something like 3 idiots, to come to the top again. Only a director like raju hirani can save bollywood now.
